La Grange et Merle has 6 tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms. All open onto the south facing balcony or a garden terrace, with the exception of the mezzanine bedroom which sits beside the library. Throughout you will find Egyptian cotton bedlinen, fluffy towels, bathrobes and luxury Molton Brown toiletries.

Grange et Merle can sleep 10 adults and 3 children in perfect comfort.
We also have a couple of extra pop up beds and cots if required.

Reinvigorate in the sauna, before stepping onto the private terrace and relax in the secluded hot-tub. Your chalet team will be on hand to bring you a glass of bubbles and we can also arrange a masseuse to come to the chalet to help ease those aching ski muscles.

La Grange et Merle features a cozy bar in the living area, to enjoy your canapes and sparkling aperitifs each evening. Guests are also invited to visit Le Carnotzet, the chalet’s beautiful wine cellar with space to relax, taste and savour a selection of excellent bottles. We are proud to offer 20 house wines which have been expertly chosen to match the menu, however you are also free to pick a different tipple from the cellar if you choose.

A dedicated TV snug is home to a large television with a selection of DVDs, Apple TV, games, toys and craft supplies.

Eating at La Grange et Merle is a stunning experience; breakfast is served at the bespoke-crafted wooden dining table which sits in front of the French windows presenting the amazing views across the valley to the Mont du Grange nature reserve.
In the evening the fire roars and the vaulted ceiling is beautifully lit to highlight the chalet’s wooden features. This creates a magical setting to enjoying a meal with family and friends.
We take great pride in every aspect of service in our ski chalets, and as foodies we know how important delicious menus are to a holiday! Along with our team of talented young chefs we create mouth-watering yet elegant menus, always using the best seasonal produce. During your holiday we will prepare beautiful honest food for you; some nostalgic classic dishes, and some inspired modern International cuisine – and we are confident you will love it all.

The chalet is located in Chatel which sits in the middle of the Portes du Soleil – the World’s largest ski area. There are 5 different areas to start skiing from in Chatel – they all interlink and the nearest lift to Grange et Merle is in the village center. Many guests choose to ski from Pre La Joux which is located outside of the village at the head of the valley. This is a 10-minute drive from the chalet and your chalet manager will be on hand to drive you to and from the slopes each day, so it is very easy to get on the slopes. Pre La Joux is a great starting point as there is lots of skiing for all abilities, easy access to all the resorts in the Portes du Soleil and plenty of restaurants at the top of the 1st chairlift.
