Ski lessons in Chatel

Whether you are learning to ski for the first time or you are an experienced skier with many mogul fields under your belt it is always useful to have a few pointers from a pro.

Here is a list of the best ski schools in Chatel.

British Alpine Ski School

BASS is the British ski school based in Chatel.  They are our preferred choice for group lessons as they have small group sizes and very good British instructors.

Using the BASI coaching system, their teaching style is excellent for all abilities and age groups.

The lessons are two hours long starting and finishing in Pre La Joux, and the cost is £200 for 5 mornings.

Ecole de ski Francais

ESF is the largest ski school in Chatel, with an office in the high street next to the pharmacy.

This is the French ski school and they can cater for all abilities in both skiing and snowboarding.  Most instructors speak English and are a good standard however we find the lessons are predominately in French and they have large group sizes.

On the plus side they are the only ski school to offer group lessons from Super Chatel.

Prices start from €145 for 5 mornings.

Ecole de ski International

The International ski school is also based at Pre La Joux.  They have a maximum of 10 pupils per class and a good selection of English speaking instructors.

Prices start from €160

To get the most from your time on the slopes we highly recommend private ski lessons, as one to one tuition is the best way to perfect your turns and technique.  Lessons are usually two hours long and cost €65 an hour plus €5 per additional person.

Blue Chilli

Is a small independent ski school specialising in private lessons.  Their instructors are arguably the best in the area, and have the ability to transform your skiing in a two hour window.  So, whether you are looking to improve your powder turns or snowplough these are the guys to call.

Freelance Instructors

There are several freelance ski instructors who have been based in the area for many years and offer excellent private instruction.  Your chalet operator will probably have their contact details.
